Terms of Service

Last updated 3 September 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Charlie Golf Aviation, LLC (“we”, “us”), who operate Pilot Quest. By creating an account or using the site you agree to them.

The one thing to take from this page if you read nothing else: Pilot Quest is not your official logbook and is not a source of aeronautical information. Clauses 4 and 5 say what that means in practice.

1.What Pilot Quest is

Pilot Quest lets a general aviation pilot record flights, see the airports they have visited on a map, and earn achievements scored from that record. It is a personal record and a game about flying you have already done.

2.Who may use it

  • You must be 16 or over. If you are not, you may not create an account.
  • One account per person, with accurate information. You do not have to use your real name — a display name is enough — but you may not impersonate another pilot.
  • An invitation is required while Pilot Quest is being built. Codes are personal, may be used once, and may be revoked before they are redeemed.

3.Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. You may delete your account at any time; see clause 12.

4.This is not your official logbook

Pilot Quest does not satisfy any regulatory record-keeping requirement, and must not be relied on for any regulatory purpose. In the United States that includes the logbook and record requirements of 14 CFR 61.51, and the recent flight experience requirements of 14 CFR 61.57. Equivalent rules apply elsewhere.

Keep your own logbook. Nothing on this site — not a total, not a landing count, not a badge, not a statistic on your dashboard — is a determination that you are current, qualified, endorsed or legal to make a flight. Those determinations are yours to make from your own records, and the fact that we can show a number does not mean the number is complete or correct: it is only ever as good as what you entered or imported.

Pilot Quest is under active development. Features change, and data can be affected by a defect. Your own logbook is the record that matters; treat ours as a copy that happens to be fun.

5.Airport and aircraft data is not for navigation

The airport, runway and aircraft information in Pilot Quest comes from public reference datasets, including OurAirports, the FAA National Airspace System Resource file and Natural Earth. It is provided as-is, it is not updated continuously, and it is not checked against current charts or notices.

Do not use Pilot Quest for navigation or flight planning. Use official charts, current notices to air missions and the operating documents for your aircraft. A field shown here as public-use, paved or open may be none of those things today.

6.How you may and may not use it

You agree not to:

  • access other pilots’ data other than through the pages we provide, or scrape, bulk-collect or republish what those pages show;
  • log flights you did not make, or otherwise enter false information to move up a leaderboard;
  • use automated means to read or write to the service without our written permission, or attempt to defeat rate limits, access controls or the row-level security that separates one pilot’s records from another’s;
  • upload anything you do not have the right to upload, or anything unlawful, abusive or obscene — including in a bio, a display name or a photograph;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service.

And one that is a rule of the product rather than of the law: no achievement here rewards pushing a limit, and none ever will. Do not fly a flight you would not otherwise have flown in order to earn something on this site. If you ever find a badge that seems to encourage it, tell us — that is a defect.

7.What you upload stays yours

Your logbook, your photographs and everything else you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, process it, and display it back to you and to the people your own privacy settings allow — nothing more. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Only post photographs that are yours to post.

8.What is ours

The Pilot Quest name, the badge artwork, the rank insignia, the design and the software are ours and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, distribute or make derivative works from them without our permission. The underlying public reference data described in clause 5 belongs to its own sources and is used under their terms.

9.Price

Pilot Quest is free while it is being built, and there is nothing to pay today. If we introduce paid features we will say so clearly in advance, and we will not begin charging for something you already have without telling you first.

10.Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service, and we do not promise it will be available uninterrupted. During development, features may be added, altered or removed with little notice. This is the other half of clause 4: keep your own record.

11.Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that any data in it is accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost records or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and some jurisdictions do not allow some of the exclusions above, in which case they do not apply to you.

12.Ending your use

You may stop using Pilot Quest at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account by writing to chad@3dchad.com. Deletion removes your profile, flights, aircraft, photographs and achievements, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly clause 6. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.

13.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and we will give notice in the app or by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Pilot Quest after that means you accept the new terms.

14.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in California have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court. If part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Before filing anything, please write to us. Nearly everything is faster to fix by email.
